2,700 new jobs coming with the NDIS

Posted: 12th Jul

The City of Logan will have up to 2,700 new health sector jobs when the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rolls out locally from 1 July 2018.

The NDIS is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and carers. It supports people with disability to build skills and capability so they can participate in the community and employment.

The large majority of new jobs in Logan will be individual support workers who work directly with people with a disability and their families. There will be additional demand for therapists and therapy assistants. There will also be new roles to support business operations as disability organisations grow.

WorkAbility Qld is helping prepare the sector for the significant growth in the number of workers and the range of skills and abilities required to meet new demand, need and expectations.

loganjobs.com.au will provide regular updates on local training and upskilling opportunities delivered by Workability Qld.
